The placement of electrodes can be one of the most important parameters in achieving success with TENS therapy. However, every patient responds to electrical stimulation differently and your needs may vary from someone else's. Our
electrode placement chart is a good starting point but it is safe to experiment with the placement. Once an acceptable placement has been achieved, record the electrode sites in a notebook or your TENS unit manual for future treatment.
Never place electrodes on the front of the throat as spasm of the Laryngeal and Pharyngeal muscle could occur. Electrodes should not be placed over the eyes, in the mouth, internally, or such as to flow current through the heart.
